LOCATION A / TAMAULIPAS (EL CIELO BIOSPHERE RESERVE).
Sub-decidious Tropial Rain Forest, Gulf-coast Shrub and wetlands, Humid Oak and Pine-Oak Forest, and Could Forest are some the habitats you can bird at in EL Cielo Biosphere Reserve.

LOCATION B / NUEVO LEÓN (MONTERREY AREA).
Just two and a half hour drive from the Texas border, Monterrey has some excelente birding locations in the Humid Oak and Pine Forest of the Sierra Madre Oriental. It is a perfect hub location for adjacent areas were one day trips to search for Maroon-fronted Parrots and Rufous-capped Brush-finches are possible.

The plains of the Sierra Madre Oriental region are home to an arrai of Mexican dessert bird species. Just a two hour drive from Monterrey into the state of Coahuila you will immersed in the largest communities of Mexican Prairie Dog and the home of the Worthen’s Sparrow.
